A wide range of treatments are available at the Vale do Lobo spa, ranging from completely natural to the latest in cosmetic medicine. From the moment you walk into the spa, water caresses the senses, evident to the eyes and ears in crystal glass walls and cascades and to the body in the various hydrotherapies available, which include a vichy shower, salt baths, hydro-massage and steam therapies.
Food & Drink
Vale do Lobo has 15 restaurants where guests can enjoy a huge variety of food from Asian, French, Italian to Portuguese seafood specialties. Most restaurants open for breakfast until late in the evening. On the lively Praça overlooking the beach you will find half the restaurants and regular evening entertainment. The options at the Praça range from the exclusive La Place and TeaHouse Oriental to pizzeria La Terrazza, Monty´s steakhouse and the more casual dining options of Papagaio, Sandbanks and the Beach Bar, all of which offer children´s menus. During the day, La Crêperie is a perfect lunch or snack option.
In Tennis Valley, Ken Lo´s Memories of China is an ideal dining option for those looking for a quieter environment. Tennis Café overlooking the courts does great value chef’s specials at lunch time, as well as light meals throughout the day. Meanwhile, catering in particular to golfers are Spikes Restaurant and Brasserie in Parque do Golfe and the half-way house, Café Royal.
Golf
Vale do Lobo is home to two challenging and outstanding golf courses – The Royal and the Ocean. Based on original concepts by the legendary Sir Henry Cotton and re-developed by the respected American golf architect Rocky Roquemore, the Vale do Lobo courses have twice been host to the Portuguese Open. Both take players through umbrella pine and fig tree-lined fairways to the Atlantic – the Royal playing dramatically along the cliff’s edge, while the Ocean sweeps daintily down to the beach. This combination of links and parkland golf provides an enjoyable game for golfers of all standards.
Tennis
The Vale do Lobo Tennis Academy has 10 hard courts, 4 synthetic grass courts as well as a mini-tennis and paddle tennis court. One of the largest tennis facilities in Portugal, it attracts national and international tennis fixtures, including an annual ATP Seniors Tour competition, the Vale do Lobo Grand Champions Caixa Geral de Depósitos, and the Portuguese Ladies´ Open. A gym, swimming pool, pro shop and two restaurants overlooking the courts complete the facilities.
The Tennis Academy runs a busy year-round programme of individual and group coaching, tournaments and social events, for members and holidaymakers.
