Villa Luxor is a stunning five-bedroom villa by the architect Vasco Vieira, on a hilltop in Oceano Clube looking over the nature reserve to the Atlantic. Water, stone and glass shape the whole house, from the infinity pool with sea views to the underwater window in the bar and cinema room. Every bedroom has its own bathroom, and Garrão beach is a few minutes' walk. Inside. Stone steps and a signature palm tree lead to a grand front door, with a view straight through the living room to the sea. On the entrance level, the modern, fully equipped kitchen opens onto a covered patio with barbecue, dining and lounge area, and the living room has its own covered patio. On the lower level are three south-facing en-suite bedrooms that open onto the pool patio, and a cloakroom. The main bedroom has a lounge area overlooking a smaller pool that cascades from the main one, and an en-suite with walk-in shower and a bath with sea views. The basement has two more double bedrooms with natural light and en-suite shower rooms, a games room with table tennis, a TV and cinema room with bar (the two can be divided by sliding panels), a patio and the laundry. An infinity pool with sea views (heating available at extra cost), reached by glass stairs from the entrance patio or from the lower bedrooms, with a decked patio and a shaded patio below. Garrão beach (known locally as Julia's beach) has five beach restaurants, including Julia's, Izzy's and Antonio's, and water sports in summer; Maria's at Dunas Douradas is walkable too.
