We understand that this is a difficult time for all our clients. We are working from home to help you with any questions or queries you have about your upcoming holiday.
There have been very few cases of COVID-19 in the Algarve and it re-opened on the 1st June. Bars, restaurants and shopping centres are all open with strict hygiene policies in place.
It is expected that Airbridge arrangements will be put in place between Portugal and other countries from the 1st July. This means that no quarantine will be required when travelling to or from Portugal.
We are doing everything we can to ensure none of our clients lose out financially while at the same time trying to minimise the financial loss to the villa owners. For clients that have paid the full balance we will do our best to move your holiday to alternative dates with the agreement of the property owner if there are travel restrictions when you are due to travel.
What happens if it is deemed safe to travel but I don’t want to?
If is deemed safe to travel and you choose not to our normal cancellation terms apply.
My balance is due? Should I pay it?
Yes you will be required to pay your balance. If there are travel restrictions in place when you are due to travel we can move your dates to next year.
My flight has been cancelled. What should I do?
We are aware that some airlines have cancelled their immediate flying schedule. In this instance your villa rental (and other costs) will almost certainly be covered by the Travel Disruption section of your travel insurance policy and you should contact your insurer. Please contact us for a cancellation invoice.
The Government has informed me that I should self-quarantine and as such I cannot travel.
If you have been told to self-quarantine, for any reason, you should, in the first instance, contact your insurance company. Please contact us for a cancellation invoice.
Can you give me a refund of my deposit?
When you book accommodation with Sunboundvillas we pay it to the property owner to secure your dates so we are no longer in possession of your deposit and as such cannot refund it.
Can I move my booking to a different villa?
The majority of our villas are privately owned. When you book your funds are transferred to the owner of the property you booked, therefore it is not transferable.
What about my holiday in July/August?
It is expected that travel to and from Portugal will go ahead as planned from the 1st July. If you decide to cancel early normal booking conditions and cancellation charges will apply. If there are travel restrictions in place when you are due to travel we can move your booking to dates next year.
